The problem of EATING...

Selamat pagi semua...

Since yesterday, I feel so sad after knowing something that I ate might be rebus with 'dot dot dot'. After that I searched and found ... that shop rebus the pasta with garlic only because they are considerate  for Vegetarian. But...still I felt something like....GULP. Many time dah rasa macam ni. One of the most difficult thing living in foreign country is .... EATING.

The first is because of the hukum that we must follow and the second is because of the type of dishes here.
It is hard to find something that you can eat and you cannot eat here. In Malaysia, we have JAKIM to do the checking and conformance.

Here, there is no such pertubuhan or badan that act like JAKIM. Only word pass by one person to another person regarding what can be eaten and what cannot. It is still not an easy thing to do because sometimes the information does not tally. Ada yang kata OK, ada yang kata tak OK. At the end, I ended up feeling confuse and miserable.  m(_ _)m

I did searched and read about this issues on the internet. Found a simple explanation about eating when you are in foreign country. My friend gave me this link when I posted a question on my facebook how to explain to someone that is not a muslim that we cannot eat monkey. Then, I browse the blog's contents and found one topic about eating in foreign country. Here is the link... http://makanansembelihan.blogspot.com/2010/01/hukum-makan-minum-di-luar-negara.html

One sentence from the writer attracted me ..
"Ini kerana dalam Islam terdapat kaedah :
Apa-apa yang tersembunyi dari (pengetahuan) kita , tidak perlu ditanya mengenainya."
Then, I keeps on thinking...can we just ignore what is hidden from our knowledge? (>.<)

What I understand is...if the haram ingredient is clearly written on the label... we cannot consume it and better to avoid it. If not, it is still safe to consume.  (Please read the post on that blog ye... dia ada explain)

There are one item that is hard to know it is halal or haram here... that item is Emulsifier or Nyukaazai in japanese. Boleh kata banyak makanan ada emulsifier ni... what I do know is... Emulsifier ada yang diperbuat dari sumber tumbuhan dan ada yang diperbuat dari sumber haiwan. Sumber haiwan ada dari makanan laut dan ada dari haiwan empat kaki. Tetapi, kebanyakan food label hanya tulis Emulsifier sahaja. (>.<)

Another question...how to know there is haram ingredient if you live in a country that does not use English and use the E code. Of course you need to memorized the kanji for all those haram ingredient. That is why I learned Japanese too. So that I can read what is written on the label.

If ragu-ragu...better tinggalkan. If not...tepuk dada tanya selera. Haaaaaaa... bolehkah gitu?
Masak ajelah kat rumah Yoo...apa susah.
